Frequently asked questions
How can real stone be so thin?
Stonevo peels a micro-layer of natural stone from the block and bonds it to a lightweight fiberglass-reinforced backing. You get a 100% natural stone surface at about 1/16" (≈ 1.5 mm), making it flexible and light without losing the authentic look and feel.
How do I install real-stone veneer panels over ZIP System® sheathing?
Ensure the ZIP System® sheathing is installed per the manufacturer, fully taped/flashed, flat, clean, and dry. Plan your layout, then trowel on the included STONEVO adhesive (our adhesive stone veneer system), set the lightweight real-stone panels along level reference lines, and roll for full contact. Stagger joints, integrate flashings, keep drainage paths clear, and protect from weather until cure. This is the fastest path to real stone veneer siding on modern walls.
How durable is STONEVO real-stone siding outdoors?
STONEVO uses a 100% natural stone surface, so the façade has the long-term weather, UV, and temperature resistance you expect from real stone. When installed over properly detailed ZIP System® walls, our exterior stone panels deliver lasting curb appeal for residential and commercial projects, and are compatible with rainscreen designs where required by code. Clean with mild detergents; sealing is optional per project conditions.
How many stone panels do I need?
Measure total wall area (width × height), subtract window/door openings, then add 10–15% waste for cuts and layout. Divide by the coverage per panel/kit shown on the product page to estimate quantity. For mixed elevations or complex corners, use a stone veneer panels exterior calculator or send us your plans—our team will confirm takeoff for thin real-stone panels.
How do I handle edges, corners, and openings?
Use layout planning to align courses at corners and returns. Panels can be cut and mitered for clean edges, or finished with compatible trims/profiles; maintain required movement joints and integrate all head/jamb/sill flashings. Back-wrap or miter exposed edges for a seamless natural stone siding look, and keep weeps/drainage paths unobstructed for performance of the real stone cladding panels system.
